Egypt is to try deposed president Mohammed Morsi over the deaths of protesters, stirring fresh tensions four months after his dramatic fall from power in a military overthrow.

The former leader has already arrive at the venue of the trial, the Police Academy.

Around 20 000 security details are expected to be deployed for the trial.
