4 Ghanaian kids killed in accident
Dakar - Four children were killed and at least five others critically injured on Tuesday, when a truck ploughed into a school bus stop in the central Ghanaian city of Kumasi, local media reported.
The accident happened at about 07:00, as children - who were aged between 8 and 12 - were waiting for a bus to take them to school.
According to witness reports, the truck first hit another vehicle loaded with sachets of drinking water.
The truck driver then lost control and the children were crushed to death.
Traffic accidents are common in Ghana, which has poor vehicle maintenance, inadequate driver training and broken roads.
According to media reports, an average of four people are killed every day on Ghana's roads.
