Johannesburg - Four teachers from North West died when their car collided head-on with a bus on Tuesday near Brits, said the provincial education department.
Charles Raseala said the teachers, three women and a man, were on their way to Botlhabelo High School at Oukasie township when the collision took place.
The bus with which they collided was carrying pupils from Kleinfontein Combined school.
The pupils were not injured, but were "traumatised", and had to be taken to hospital, said Raseala.
"The department will move swiftly to help the school in whatever way it can," said acting education MEC Phenye Vilakazi.
In July, 13 Diphotogo Primary School teachers died when their minibus taxi collided with a truck on the Lichtenburg road.
