African journos take the prize

Paris - Journalists from Senegal, Cameroon and Madagascar won prizes on Tuesday from the Paris-based media advocacy group Reporters Without Borders and Radio France Internationale.
Ibrahima-Benjamin Diagne of Senegal's Walf-FM won in the radio category for a report about religion and the press.
Nomba Danielle Lydienne of Cameroon won for the written press with an article in Le Messager about pygmies. William Rasoanaivo from Madagascar, who goes by the pen name of "Pov," won in the category of newspaper cartoons for an illustration in Midi Madagasikara.
The winners receive $1 170 to spend on equipment. They also win a weeklong trip to Paris, where they will attend classes at a journalism school.
