Anglicans ponder pink purse

Nairobi - Bishops from African Anglican churches began meeting Wednesday to decide whether to reject funds from gay-friendly churches, news reports said.
When the US Episcopal Church last year appointed an admitted homosexual, Gene Robinson, bishop of New Hampshire, it caused a deep split between liberal western and traditionalist African churches.
Nigeria's archbishop, Peter Akinola, who heads the Council of Anglican Provinces for Africa (Capa), has said the ordination of homosexuals is "a satanic attack on God's Church".
About two-thirds of Capa's funds come from western sources, and if the primarily US-generated funds are rejected by the meeting in Nairobi, the church's ability to carry out its charity work in Africa could be severely hampered. - Sapa-dpa
