Khartoum - Armed men abducted a civilian peacekeeper in Sudan's Darfur region on Thursday, hours after envoys from the UN Security Council arrived in the region, his force said.

"Today, in the evening, armed men entered the residence of four civilian staff members in downtown El Fasher (the capital of North Darfur). Saiki said the missing man was not Sudanese but would not release any other personal details.
