Cape Town – Kenyan gunmen have reportedly shot dead an Australian man Patrick John Richer, 39, after they stormed his home in Nairobi and stole a number of gadgets, a report said on Monday.

Richer was shot twice in the chest at close range by a group of up to 10 men, including some who were wearing police uniform, The Sydney Morning Herald said.

According to Kenya’s Daily Nation, Richer's Kenyan wife, Lesili Richer, was not injured during the robbery. The attackers escaped with a television set, phones and two laptops.

Police were in the process of establishing whether the suspects who were in police uniform were indeed officers.
