Johannesburg - Allan Boesak must rewrite a chapter in his book after former finance minister Trevor Manuel demanded that references to his family be removed, The Star newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Book publisher Vera Nagtegaal said the decision to rewrite parts of the book entitled Running with Horses: Reflections of an Accidental Politician, came after "lengthy discussions" with Manuel's lawyers.

According to The Star, Boesak wrote that funds donated to his Foundation for Peace and Justice (FPJ) had been used to assist organisations and individuals in the struggle against apartheid.

Boesak, a former United Democratic Front activist, was sent to jail after he was found guilty of fraud and theft in a case related to money that was donated to the FPJ.
