Cairo - At least 28 people were injured in clashes
between supporters and opponents of Egypt's ruling Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo
on Friday, the health ministry said.
The two sides used stones in the clashes outside the
Botherhood's headquarters, where opposition had planned to stage a mass protest
over an alleged attack by Brotherhood supporters earlier in the week, witnesses
said.
The online edition of the state-run newspaper al-Ahram
reported online that protesters had stormed and damaged an office belonging to
the Brotherhood in Cairo.
Several of the group's offices in Egypt have been
attacked in protests over the policies of President Mohammed Morsi, a
Brotherhood member.
Egypt's first democratically elected president has for
months been locked in a bitter dispute with the mostly secular opposition,
which accuses him of behaving like a dictator.
