Cairo - At least three Egyptians died on Monday after two buildings collapsed in separate incidents, said police, adding that several people were still trapped under the rubble.
A police official said that a three-storey building in the province of Qaliubiya, north of Cairo, collapsed overnight, killing three people and injuring three.
In Cairo's Hadeiq al-Kubba neighbourhood, a four-storey building also collapsed, leaving three people injured and six trapped under the rubble.
The building had been slapped with a demolition order.
Building collapses were a frequent occurrence in Egypt. Many structures were unauthorised and not built according to regulations.
