Eritrea boycotts neighbour

Addis Ababa - The Eritrean government has prohibited Eritreans from participating in a leather products trade fair in Addis Ababa, organisers of the fair disclosed on Monday.

About 30 participants from related leather industries in Eritrea had registered and confirmed their participation in the three-day fair opening on Wednesday.

However, they have all been prohibited from travelling to Addis Ababa because of an unresolved border dispute.

Ethiopia has objected to the decision of an International Boundary Commission ruling in favour of Eritrea which places the town of Badme in the western sector of the border. - Sapa-dpa
