Gaddafi 'slams' revolutionary forces

2011-09-13 07:34
Tripoli - Fugitive Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi is accusing revolutionary forces of surrendering the country to foreign influence and vows to press ahead with his fight.

The brief message attributed to Gaddafi was read on Monday on Syria's Al-Rai TV by its owner Mishan al-Jabouri, a former Iraqi lawmaker.

The statement described the opposition forces as traitors and willing to turn over Libya's oil riches to foreign interests.

Gaddafi’s whereabouts are unknown, but his followers claim he is still in Libya. Some of his family members have fled to neighbouring Niger as revolutionary fighters try to storm the remaining pro-Gaddafi strongholds.

The last message attributed to Gaddafi was a five-minute audio recording September 08.
