Gaddafi son al-Saadi negotiates surrender

2011-08-31 16:32

Tripoli - The rebel commander in Tripoli says Muammar Gaddafi's son al-Saadi has called him to negotiate the terms of his own surrender.

The commander, Abdel Hakim Belhaj, spoke to The Associated Press on Wednesday. Belhaj says al-Saadi first called him on Tuesday and asked whether his safety could be guaranteed.

Belhaj says he told al-Saadi he would not be harmed but he would be treated according to the law.

Belhaj says al-Saadi called back again early on Wednesday, but he missed the call.

Was this not an imposter or is it not just plain propaganda so that we all believe that the Brother Leader is really in more trouble than we can anticipate. There is no doubt that the reign of Gaddafi has come to an end. Which why I am not in agreement with the AU when they insist on a negotiated settlement that is inclusive of Gaddafi and his family.

All sane people understand that Gadhafi was largely a brutal dictator who enriched himself at the expense of the Libyan people. They are happy to see him and his apprentice sons gone.

Belhaj says al-Saadi called back again early on Wednesday, but he missed the call. LOL. "You have... one... new message. To return this call, press 1. To continue fighting, press 2. To surrender, press 3. To flee into exile in Zimbabwe, press 4."

The report should say a person who alleged he was al-Saadi - this is the height of poor reporting. There is no way that guy would surrender to Nato; he would rather die that risk being humiliated. definitely it was an impostor
