Gbagbo lawyers not ready for ICC case
The Hague - Lawyers for Laurent Gbagbo say they still have no office or computer at the International Criminal Court as they prepare for the Ivory Coast ex-president's defence against murder and rape charges.
Gbagbo lawyer Emmanuel Altit said at a preliminary hearing the defence team would be unable to cope with large amounts of evidence prosecutors have pledged to disclose "with the very limited means we have at our disposal".
Gbagbo did not attend a 90-minute hearing on Wednesday, which focused on technical preparations for the case.
Gbagbo was extradited to the court in November to face charges of murder, rape and other crimes allegedly committed by his supporters as he clung to power after elections in 2010.
