Gbagbo's doctor freed on bail
Abidjan - The personal physician of ousted Ivory Coast president Laurent Gbagbo was released from jail Thursday, five days after authorities had granted him bail, a lawyer said.
"Doctor Christophe Ble has been freed," said Toussaint Zahui Dako, one of Ble's lawyers.
Dako blamed a military commander for the delay, saying he had deliberately defied the court's order.
On December 30, the court freed on bail Ble and two journalists detained during the country's post-election unrest in 2011.
The physician was detained along with Gbagbo in Korhogo after the former strongman's arrest on April 11, marking the end of post-election violence which left 3 000 people dead.
Gbagbo was transferred on November 30 to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where he is being charged for crimes against humanity.
Pro-Gbagbo lawyers are seeking the release of 17 other people, including the former first lady Simone Gbagbo.
