Hijack: Durban couple critical
Durban - A couple is in a critical condition at the Umhlanga Hospital on Wednesday, following an attempted hijacking on the R102 in Durban, emergency services said.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha said they received a phone call about a reported accident near Glen Anil in Durban North at about 19:30 on Tuesday.
However, when emergency services arrived on the scene they found the couple had been shot in an attempted hijacking.
"When we got there we found a man and his wife. The husband was shot in the abdomen and arm, while his wife sustained gunshot wounds to her pelvis and one of her legs.
"They managed to speed off to a safe place," Botha said.
