Harare - The International Monetary Fund said on Wednesday it would not provide aid to Zimbabwe until the new unity government proved its commitment to sound policies and settled outstanding debts.
"Technical and financial assistance from the the IMF will depend on establishing a track record of sound policy implementation, donor support and a resolution of overdue financial obligations to official creditors, including the IMF," the Fund said in a statement.
"IMF staff stand ready to continue to assist the authorities through policy advice," it said after a two-week mission to Zimbabwe.
