Ivory poachers arrested

Dar es Salaam - Tanzanian police have arrested two people in connection with 1 255 elephant tusks seized in the capital last week.
"We are holding two suspects in relation to the matter," said Aden
Mwamnyange, a senior officer at the police headquarters.
He said that it was still unclear where the ivory came from.
Trade in ivory is banned under the Convention on International
Trade in Endangered Species (Cites) treaty, which protects certain
species by preventing trade in their products. - Sapa-AFP
