Conakry - Guinea's coup leaders on Thursday invited envoys from the Group of Eight, United Nations, European Union and African Union to meet with them this weekend "to reassure the international community".
The military junta, in a statement read on national radio, said it would first hold an "informational meeting" on Saturday morning (10:00 GMT) with "representatives of civil society, political parties, religious faiths and unions".
A second meeting would take place at noon (12:00 GMT) "in order to reassure the international community," said the soldiers led by Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, who launched a coup after long-time president Lansana Conte died on Monday.
The junta also invited the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank to the meeting.
The international community has called for the junta to hold elections much sooner than the December 2010 target they have announced.
Saturday's meetings would take place at the Alfa Yaya Diallo military camp in Conakry where the putschists are based.
