Cape Town – A video has emerged in which Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan is mocked for his slow reaction to the kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls by Boko Haram militants last month.

The video, which is titled "Goodluck Jonathan School of leadership", makes fun of Jonathan's leadership skills and his lack of prioritisation.

The video reveals how Jonathan seems to be pre-occupied with re-election campaign and other "pressing issues" like the "protection of corrupt ministers", instead of acting swiftly to have the schoolgirls rescued.

Nigerian-Brit video blogger Ikenna Azuike narrates the video.

Watch the video below.

Nigeria's military and government have faced national and international outrage over their failure to rescue the girls seized by Boko Haram from a remote north-eastern school six weeks ago.

More than 200 girls were abducted from the town of Chiboke on 14 April. Dozens managed to escape, leaving the number of girls still held at 219.

Jonathan was forced this month to accept international help. American planes have been searching for the girls and Britain, France, Israel and other countries have sent experts in surveillance and hostage negotiation.

Jonathan on Thursday, however, vowed to "do everything possible to bring our daughters home".
