Kiev: Arms not headed to Sudan

Kiev - Kiev on Monday denied a Ukrainian vessel seized by Somali pirates off Somalia last week was carrying tanks and other weapons destined for Sudan, as claimed earlier by the US military.
"According to my information, the cargo was intended for Kenya, for its ministry of defence," Vasyl Kyrylych, a spokesperson for Ukraine's foreign ministry, told AFP.
Earlier on Monday, a US military spokesperson said the Ukrainian ship was destined for Sudan and not Kenya.
"We have a report indicating that the cargo and the shipment was headed to Sudan," said Nathan Christensen, spokesperson for the Bahrain-based US Fifth Fleet, declining to speculate on the intended recipients.
A Kenyan defence ministry spokesperson swiftly denied the report.
