Kony 'won't be hanged'

Kampala - Lord's Resistance Army leader Joseph Kony will not be sentenced to death when he faces crimes committed during the two decades in the North, says the Ugandan government.
According to the report by The New Vision, reconciliation would be the overriding factor when implementing the comprehensive peace agreement, which was expected to come out of the peace talks to be held in Juba.
Dr Ruhakana Rugunda said: "While sentencing, we should bear in mind reconciliation, therefore, the death sentence should not be countenanced."
According to Rugunda, what was important for the government was an outcome that would satisfy the victims first, Ugandans and the international community.
