Antanarivo - Two potential buyers, one Swiss and one American, have put in bids for a Boeing 737-700 dubbed Air Force II, once the run-around of ousted president Marc Ravalomanana, a source close to the sale said.

With not too many miles on the clock, the previous owner bought the plane five years ago for $62m. It is now going for a snip at around $25m.

"The sale should be finalised this month," said the source, who asked not to be named.

Ravalomanana was ousted in 2008 by current leader Andry Rajoelina, with the military's backing.

Why is he selling? Is the Boeing hail damaged? I'll offer him $12.5m on a 80% residual.
