Missing Gauteng girl, 13, found
Johannesburg - A man was arrested for abduction after a missing 13-year-old girl was found at his house in Kathlehong South on Thursday, Gauteng police said.
Captain Mega Ndobe said Katlehong community patrollers followed up on information they had received and went to a house in Moleleki section, extension 2 in Katlehong early on Thursday morning.
Inside the house they found the girl and arrested the 31-year-old man living there.
The girl had been reported missing by her mother in Katlehong South on Sunday.
Police were investigating whether the man had also sexually abused the girl. He could face an additional charge of rape, said Ndobe.
A further 35 people were arrested in Katlehong for crimes including fraud, robbery, theft, assault, possession of dagga, malicious damage to property, house break-in and theft, shoplifting, rape, drinking liquor in public and the suspicion of being illegal immigrants.
All 36 people arrested would appear before the Natalspruit, Germiston and Alberton Magistrate's Courts on Thursday depending on the category of crime each was charged with, said Ndobe.
