Nigeria airline to resume flights

2012-09-22 21:09

Lagos - Nigeria's largest airline says it will resume flights on Sunday after halting them over what it claimed was government corruption strangling its airlines.

Arik Air managing director Chris Ndulue told journalists on Saturday that the airline had meetings with government officials and had resolved its differences. He did not offer any specifics.

Arik Air halted its domestic flights on Thursday after it said federal workers raided its operation at Lagos' International Airport. Arik Air officials also accused Nigeria's aviation minister of having a personal and a financial interest in destroying their airline, a claim denied the aviation ministry spokesperson.

The airline's halting its flights caused massive disruption in Nigeria's aviation industry.
