Obama hails new chapter in Libya

2011-09-20 21:16

New York - US President Barack Obama on Tuesday hailed a "new chapter in the life" of Libya, saying that the nation stood as a lesson of what the global community can achieve together.

But he warned "difficult days are still ahead", in remarks released prior to a meeting on Libya at the United Nations attended by the north African country's new leaders who ousted Muammar Gaddafi in a months-long uprising.

      What would you have done?

@James4usa...the money is not wasted mate. Now the allies can rape Libya like they have done to Iraq of all its natural resources and then bill the people living in that country to repair it after US warplanes bombed it to the ground.

idiots, Nato whent into Libya. They asked the USA to assist and as always it is the USA's fault. Get your facts straight!

Eh, IQ it is you who should get your facts straight. The US was the first to stand up and say it supports the Rebels. They just did not want to foot the whole bill so had their buddies Nato involved. This gave it more legitimacy (America could not be seen to be leading yet another war), and also as Italy, France, and the UK would be the biggest beneficiaries from the oil it is them that logically should foot the bill. Does not change the fact that this was led by the US.

Obama, You cannot hail a new chapter until its been read. Also the global community have not yet achieved anything. Until I have heard from Libyas man in the street, that live is better for all, I will not be able to consider that the global community has achieved anything. It remains to be seen what your puppets have in store for Libya.

Between Obama punting what the Global community can do, and between the IMF punting we need a new currency I would say we are merely months away from the new world order. Gadaffi was a thorn in the side of the elites plan to establish this, with him gone, things can go ahead a little less challenged.
