Johannesburg - Deputy President and SADC facilitator Cyril Ramaphosa will return to Lesotho to consolidate agreements reached during his last visit, the presidency said on Tuesday.

He would visit Lesotho on Wednesday and Thursday to strengthen recently-agreed political and security agreements in the country, the presidency said in a statement.

It would be his seventh visit and followed the recent signing of the Maseru Facilitation Agreement and the Maseru Security Accord.

The former laid the basis for reconvening parliament in October; the dissolution of parliament in December; and holding elections in February 2015 on a date to be set by King Letsie III.

The Maseru Security Accord provided for three senior defence and police officers to go on a leave of absence and undertake working visits on their areas of expertise to SADC or Commonwealth countries.
