Arusha - The UN genocide tribunal for Rwanda said on Thursday it had issued indictments for all suspects it so far plans to charge for roles in the country's 1994 massacre.
Stephen Rapp, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) said that last indictments were issued to eight suspects early this month.
Among the eight suspects are Michel Bagaragaza, former head of Rwanda's tea sector and former technical director of Radio Libres des Milles Collines (RTLM) Joseph Serugendo who was arrested last week in Gabon, Hirondelle news agency quoted Rapp as saying.
The prosecutor did not, however, mention the remaining six suspects.
The indictments allow tribunal prosecutors to pursue suspects who are still at large.
In addition, the ICTR is pursuing 14 other suspects who are still on the run and include lead genocide suspect Felicien Kabuga and former planning minister Augiustin Ngirabatware.
The Tanzania-based tribunal was set up to try chief suspects in the 1994 massacre in which 800 000 people died. It has so far convicted 22 suspects and acquitted three others.
