N'Djamena - A Chadian journalist working for the BBC was beaten up by Chad's soldiers on Saturday.
The international federation for human rights (FIDH) said the soldiers took the journalist to an "unknown destination".
Dobian Assingar, vice-president of the FIDH, said: "Rene Djillah was doing a report in the Moursal district in the south of the capital, when soldiers arrived in a truck, took him and beat him up.
"They then took him to an unknown destination.
"We have had no news of him since this morning."
Djillah is a journalist for national Chad radio and has been a correspondent for the BBC for several years.
Troops loyal to Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno were patrolling the streets of N'Djamena on Saturday morning, two days after they pushed back an offensive by a coalition of rebels from the United Front for Change (FUC).
