Kano - Two suicide bombers have killed seven people in north-eastern Nigeria, an army spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The bombers detonated their explosives as Muslims were returning from evening prayers in the city of Maiduguri on Tuesday.

Eleven people were injured, army spokesperson Sani Usman said.

The attack was attributed to the Islamist group Boko Haram, which has killed an estimated 14 000 people since 2009.
