Paris - A French court has delayed a hearing in a suit against George Clooney and Warner Bros, filed by a French screenwriter who alleges the movie Syriana was plagiarised from her script.
The preliminary hearing, scheduled for Monday, was rescheduled to May 29 for procedural reasons.
Stephanie Vergniault has said she wants 35% of the movie's earnings in France and the United States.
She claims the oil-industry thriller borrowed "very largely" from a script she completed in 2002.
According to the court filing, the storyline of Vergniault's screenplay, entitled "Oversight", involved CIA intrigues with oil companies in the Persian Gulf.
The suit targets Clooney's film company, Section Eight, which he formed with director Steven Soderbergh and Warner Bros, as well as Syriana's writer-director Stephen Gaghan.
Clooney received a best supporting actor Oscar for his role in the movie.
