Truck drives off bridge - 33 die
Kinshasa - A truck drove off a bridge during pouring rain killing 33 people in northwest Democratic Republic of Congo, Okapi radio reported on Saturday, citing local police.
The truck carrying passengers and goods was crossing the bridge near Lisala, in the Equateur province, overnight on Thursday when the accident happened.
The bridge was said to have been in a poor condition.
Road accidents are frequent in DRC because of the poor state of the roads and often caused by overloaded vehicles or reckless drivers.
