Zambian media chiefs fired
Lusaka - Zambia's minister of information on Friday fired three media chiefs perceived to be loyal to former president Rupiah Banda's administration.
Given Lubinda said Times of Zambia managing director John Phiri and his Zambia Daily Mail counterpart Evans Milimo together with his deputy Davis Mataka had had their contracts terminated with immediate effect.
Lubinda also asked the media to be objective in their reporting and avoid what he regarded as bias.
Last week, Lubinda appointed new directors at the public broadcaster Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation.
