Nairobi - A one-and-a-half-year-old baby has been rescued alive, four days after the collapse of a six-storey building in Nairobi, Kenya.

According to Kenyans.co.ke, the baby girl was found on Tuesday morning, trapped in the rubble of the Huruma building. She was rushed to Kenyatta National hospital, where she was currently being stabilised.

In a statement, the Kenya Red Cross, which had been looking for survivors since Friday, said the baby was found wrapped in a blanket, inside a bucket.

The rescuers said she was well.

"She appeared dehydrated, and with no physical injuries. She was taken to the Kenyatta National Hospital by the Kenya Red Cross rescue vehicle, and is currently undergoing treatment."

At least 22 people had so far been confirmed dead, as rescue operations continued.
