Hotel under attack in Ivory Coast beach resort: witnesses

Abidjan - A hotel was under attack on Sunday in the Ivory Coast beach resort of Grand-Bassam which is popular with Westerners, witnesses told AFP.

It was not immediately known how many people had been killed or injured or who was behind the shooting in the former French colonial capital, around 40km east of Abidjan.

There have been attacks on hotels in Mali and Burkina Faso in the past couple of months as well.

Sky News reported on Sunday evening that six people had been killed in the Sunday attack.
