Somalia schedules presidential election

Mogadishu - The chief of Somalia's electoral commission announced on Sunday that presidential elections will be held on October 30.

Omar Mohamed Abdulle says the presidential vote will be held after the selection of members of the upper and lower parliamentary houses takes place between September 24 and October 10.

He said members of parliament will elect a new parliament speaker on October 25.
