Cape Town – At least 300 Zanu-PF supporters are reportedly homeless after Zimbabwean "armed" police allegedly demolished their makeshift homes at a farm they had "invaded" near Masvingo town.

The "invaders" had moved onto the farm after accusing fellow black farmers at the farm of underutilising the land and being fronts for whites, NewsDay reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, the evicted families who claimed to have voted for Zanu-PF in the 31 July elections vowed to remain at the farm as they said they had nowhere else to go. They said they could not allow to be treated in such a manner.

Some of the invaders decried their living conditions as they said they were now drinking water from the river.

Police however professed ignorance over the matter, the report said.
