Tsvangirai dad claims 'political sting'
Harare - Zimbabwe's prime minister has called off a relationship with a woman who says she's pregnant with his child.
Morgan Tsvangirai broke a two-week silence on the reports about the affair, saying the relationship turned out instead to be a choreographed political sting.
The state daily Herald newspaper reported late last month that Tsvangirai paid $36 000 and five cattle in traditional "bride price" at a ceremony at her family's homestead after she became pregnant.
Tsvangirai said in the statement on Thursday that his "genuine intention has been betrayed" and that he now questions the motives of the woman's family.
Tsvangirai's wife of more than three decades was killed in a car wreck in 2009.
