Zimbabwe bus crash kills 15

2012-03-26 11:37

Harare - At least 15 people were killed and 28 injured Sunday when a bus veered off the road and overturned in the eastern Zimbabwean village of Nyanga, state radio reported.

Provincial police spokesperson Enock Chishiri told the broadcaster that 12 people died at the scene and three were pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.

The accident happened at the scene of a 1991 crash in which 80 schoolchildren and seven teachers were killed when a bus returning them from a sports outing rolled down a slope after the driver lost control.

Accidents are common in Zimbabwe because of roads which have been neglected for years and are riddled with crater-like potholes.

thats basically not true. accidents in zimbabwe do not happen because roads have been neglected. accidents have always happened even on newly surfaced roads. in south africa, thousands of people die per year due to accidents but the roads are in ship-shape condition. you guys believe sensational writing will do you a lot of good. not from my side. i am also a driver and i kkow what causes accidents. in most cases its human error and in others its technical faults of vehicles. bad roads have a fare share in causing accidents but to conclude that accidents in zimbabwe happen because roads have been neglected is a terrible mistake. it jut goes to show how much AFP hates zimbabwe and its people. what about the accident which happened to the COSTA CONCORDIA? was it because of bad roads?
