70 flood victims airlifted from Limpopo

2014-03-13 16:05

A total of 70 people were airlifted to safety from a hill in Lephalale, Limpopo.

“These residents took refuge on a hill as water levels from the Mogol River overspill started rising steadily throughout the night,” ER24 spokesperson Luyanda Majija said today.

She said a rescue team was on its way to a flooded farm in the area where seven people were reported to be stranded.

Paramedics were working with the fire department, provincial emergency service and the SA Police Service.
