ANC man receives threats

2012-07-30 07:13

South Coast ANC regional secretary Mzwandile Mkhwanazi has been receiving threatening calls telling him to resign.

“I have been receiving threats in the form of an ultimatum to resign by a certain time or else something would happen to me,” Mkhwanazi was quoted saying in the Natal Witness today.

Mkhwanazi said speculation about the recent killing of ANC chief whip in the Ugu district municipality Wandile Mkhize created unnecessary tensions in the party.

Mkhize was killed in a drive-by shooting in Manaba, Margate, on June 30. No one has been arrested for the murder.

Mkhwanazi appealed to “comrades” to allow police to investigate the matter and not take matters into their own hands.

It was not known who was making the threatening telephone calls.
