Bafana Bafana’s Africa Cup of Nations woes continued off the field as they were grounded in Mongomo for another night or two after their chartered flight failed to arrive.

The team was scheduled to arrive back home today from Gabon but are still in Equatorial Guinea after they were forced to unpack their bags.

Apparently there was a communication mix-up as they were told a charter flight had been arranged to take them from Mongomeyen airport to Libreville in Gabon where they were going get a connecting flight to Johannesburg.

But to their disappointment they still found themselves at the local airport several hours after they were scheduled to depart and had to return back to their base.

By the time of publication, they were still frantically trying to get out of Mongomo and are due to arrive back home tomorrow morning – three days after they were knocked out of the tournament.

A press conference which was scheduled on their arrival had to be cancelled.
