A benefit comedy show has been organised for Kim McCusker, the woman who was dragged by a taxi, said her Facebook support group.

Nicole Hijbeek told the group this week that The Comics for Kim benefit would take place on November 4 at the Scarlet Ribbon in Edenvale, Johannesburg.

Proceeds will be used to assist McCusker in her recovery.

She has been hospitalised since the incident took place on September 12.

“She is off the ventilator and is infection free. Her wounds are healing beautifully and the doctor’s will begin skin grafts soon,” sister Julia told the group.

McCusker suffered serious injuries after being dragged 700m down Lonehill Boulevard, Johannesburg by a taxi.

The driver, Matome Thamage (30) was released on R5 000 bail after being charged with attempted murder and reckless driving at the Randburg Magistrates Court.

He is to appear again next month.

McCusker’s fiancee Lourens Grobler (37) was granted bail of R5 000 after being arrested for allegedly assaulting Thamage.

His next court appearance is on October 28.
