Sbu Khomo is still part of Big Nuz – he’s been absent from their performances and music videos because of illness.

It was reported last year that the quiet group member was admitted to an intensive care ward at a private heart hospital in Durban.

His family wanted to keep his admission quiet at the time and he was booked in under a different name.

His illness sparked rumours that all was not well in the group.

But DJ Tira dismissed the rumours, saying: “They are not breaking up, he’s just not well at all.”

Khomo has been in hospital for over five months.

Band member Mandla Maphumula (Mampitsha) said they were realising an album this year and that Khomo would be there too.

“When we made a media statement about Sbu there was speculation about his health. We decided to keep quiet afterwards. We were there when he got sick and had issues with his chest.”
