Big guns back for Bulls

2011-03-16 13:12

Lock Bakkies Botha, hooker Gary Botha and utility back Francois Hougaard will make their return from injury to the Bulls squad for Saturday’s Vodacom Super Rugby derby against the Stormers in Pretoria.

Hougaard, who will be playing in his first match of the competition, and Gary Botha have been included in the team’s list of replacements which was announced today.

The return of the versatile Hougaard has given coach Frans Ludeke the option of going for an extra forward on the bench.

The Bulls will, therefore, have five forwards, and only two backline players, to make an impact later in the match.

With Bakkies Botha back in the second row next to skipper Victor Matfield, Danie Rossouw drops to the bench leaving Juandre Kruger without a place in the match 22.

Bulls team
Zane Kirchner, Gerhard van den Heever, Jaco Pretoruis, Wynand Olivier, Bjorn Basson, Morne Steyn, Fourie du Preez, Pierre Spies, Dewald Potgieter, Deon Stegmann, Victor Matfield (c), Bakkies Botha, Werner Kruger, Chiliboy Ralepelle, Gurthro Steenkamp.

Bench: Gary Botha, Rossouw de Klerk, Flip van der Merwe, Danie Rossouw, Francois Brummer, Francois Hougaard, Derick Kuun.
