Body found in Kagiso shallow grave

2012-12-27 12:07

The body of a man was found buried in a shallow grave in Kagiso, near Krugersdorp, Gauteng police said.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya said the shallow grave behind the Kagiso cemetery was found by a passer-by collecting firewood last Wednesday.

“The complainant noticed flies and some blood stains on the grass, accompanied by a bad smell, and he became suspicious. He then called the police, who upon arrival found the body of a man buried in a shallow grave.”

He said the man was dark in complexion and had a scorpion tattooed on the left side of his chest. On his left shoulder was a tattoo that reads “Crazy”. He was estimated to be between 32 and 35 years old.

“The body was exhumed and later taken to the state mortuary in Roodepoort. Anyone with information that can assist the police to locate the deceased’s next of kin can call Kagiso Detective Constable Nkomo at 011 696 9086/87.”
