Boy (16) in court after farm couple killed

2014-03-31 15:50

A 16-year-old appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrates’ Court in the Western Cape in connection with the murder of a farming couple, Limpopo police said.

The case against the boy was postponed to April 7, as it had been transferred to the Mokopane Magistrates’ Court in Limpopo, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said today.

This was because the bodies of the couple were found on their farm Merebank near Lephalale in Limpopo on Friday.

The teenager was arrested in Mossel Bay this morning.

“The ... minor was arrested at his guardian’s house,” said Mulaudzi.

Police found the bodies of the 69-year-old man and 66-year-old woman after their relatives had been unable to contact them.

“The couple’s bodies were found in the decomposing state and a postmortem will be conducted this week to determine the cause of death,” said Mulaudzi.
