Bring Christmas to the SPCA

The Toyota Twincam club in Johannesburg will be bringing Christmas

a little earlier to some fury friends at the Sandton SPCA this Sunday.

The car club is appealing to all animal lovers to support their

annual charity event by assisting them in delivering some goods to the SPCA on

Sunday, December 6.

The group of enthusiasts has run campaigns on Kaya Fm and Radio

Today.

The Bryanston SAPS will be joining them in conjunction with the Dog

units as well. This great team is run by Captain Neil Pillay of Bryanston.

Radio 702 Vet, Dr Melven Greenburg has been a key player for this

Sunday’s charity event.

The SPCA is in dire need of certain items so if you can kindly

assist with any of the items it will be appreciated.

The logistics of the event will start of by all meeting at Woodmead

MacDonald’s between 9-10am on Sunday for breakfast. The convoy will drive to the

Sandton SPCA to donate all the goodies the Twincam club has raised and spend the

day.

The SPCA is situated in Nine Street, Marlboro Gardens - next to Marlboro

traffic department.

Any one wanting to bring the SPCA some goods are urged to bring

some canned pet food (no red meat – chicken only), pet toys, collars and

blankets.

The Sandton SPCA has also re-started their mobile clinic, aimed at

provided veterinary care and education to the disadvantaged communities in the

Sandton & eastern metro areas.

  • large walk on electronic scale

  • electric Oster golden shaver size A5, spare shaver size 40, hand

    shaver/blades

  • bandages, disinfectants, elastoplasts, swabs, liquid soaps, cotton

    wool, Methalated spirits

  • stainless steel dishes, buckets
  • carrying cages, plastic aprons, staff uniforms, pill packets,

    glass dispensing bottles

  • collars, leads, veterinary rectal thermometer, metal bath (for

    dipping) -funds for a range of veterinary medication

  • emergency yellow flashing lights for 4 inspectorate vehicles

  • funds to purchase Rabies vaccinations for inspectorate, surgery

    & kennel staff

  • shade cloth
  • metal sheeting to be replaced over parking area for protection of

    new vehicles

  • printing
  • lockable cupboards in surgery
  • new dog grooming equipment e.g. professional clippers, blades,

    scissors, brushes & combs

  • projection machine, screen & dvd player for our educational

    officer to give presentations & show educational videos.

  • cell phones
  • funds to purchase new information boards for kennels
  • constant supply of blankets, dog/cat food, toys, leads and collars

    for kennels
