Bunnies sex up Playboy launch

2011-03-19 15:46

A “tits and arse” affair is what we expected of the launch of the local version of Playboy magazine.

But Cafe Culture in Fourways, Jozi, on Thursday night was disappointingly teeming with the usual social suspects.

5FM’s mad hatter Jennifer Su was there in one of her strange hats, which she described as “parliament chic”, and so was model Babalwa Mneno, who was supposedly hosting a hoax bachelorette party at another club.

Rapper Siya “Slikour” Metane and his baby mama, Jill Mulligan, came out to play, as did former TV presenter Claire Mawisa, who wore a sexy short number, and Uyanda Mbuli, who looked chic in a zebra-print top and flirty black skirt.

Christina Storm, a former model and James Small’s ex-wife, wore a short white dress without a bra, giving our eyes a painful nipple poke.

The woman is obviously gagging to be on the cover of the magazine.

And then there was actress and Survivor contestant Carmel Fisher. While she has covered up a bit more in recent history, her love for the spotlight has not dimmed a bit. She preened and pouted for cameramen like it was going out of fashion.

Guests were ushered in by promo girls wearing the signature Playboy bunny outfits.

As for the magazine’s first cover girl, Tracy McGregor, she made her grand entrance in an angelic-looking white evening gown that didn’t fool us one bit as we ogled her naked breasts on the cover.

The magazine also introduced its first Playmate, who fortunately is not a peroxide blonde with 38 DDs.

Instead, Krugersdorp poppie Amy Tara Bridger looks like one of FHM’s “home-grown honey” models, which she apparently was.

The mind-boggling moment of the night?

A seven-page feature spread on King Goodwill Zwelithini. Like, huh?
