Bus accident injures 75

2011-03-14 12:54

A bus overturned in Northcliff, northwestern Joburg, this morning, injuring at least 75 people, four critically, Joburg paramedics said.

The accident happened at the intersection of 14th Avenue and Suzanne Crescent, ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said.

The cause of the accident was not clear, but wet weather could have been a contributing factor.

The transporter bus rolled onto its left-hand side in the intersection, and a Nissan and an Audi also collided with it.

Emergency services were at the scene, assisting the injured.

The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
